Finally, Apple has officially launched the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus put an end to months of speculation. Both the design and configuration of both new iPhone products are not much different than the previous leak information. iPhone 7 has the same design as the iPhone 6s (and the previous iPhone 6) with rounded metal body. But the new design in this phone is IP67 water resistance, meaning it can stay 30 minutes underwater at a depth of 1 meter. The significant new addition to the design is the placement of the variable antenna strip, which is located just above and below the back, making the new iPhone look better. iPhone 7 comes with a choice of glossy black and black fancy and old, gold, pink and silver options.
3.5mm audio jack is gone. As such, wired headsets will have to be plugged in through the Lightning port. Of course, we can use the Bluetooth headset to connect to the new iPhone. Apple also comes with a new Earpod headset, Lightning cable and 3.5mm Lightning adapter in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus case.
In addition, Apple has developed new wireless headsets called AirPods that are designed to work with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. AirPods is a true wireless headset, with no cable connected. The company has developed a new wireless technology that handles both wireless and voice connectivity to the phone or Apple Watch. This headset has sensors to recognize when it is being worn on the ear and accelerometer sensors to activate Siri. Apple said the AirPods have a 5-hour battery life and comes with an additional battery case that provides up to 25 hours of use. Beats headphones are also available in the new AirPods wireless technology. The home button on the iPhone 7 has been redesigned, becoming the touch sensor with tactile feedback like the Force Touch tablet on recent MacBook laptops.
